HIGH-STAKES ADVENTURE. ELECTRIFYING FULL-COLOR ART.NARNIA MEETS OLD YELLER IN THIS UNFORGETTABLE DEBUT!
This adventure’s a throwback to simpler times. It appears to be prose – but it secretly rhymes. Kids can read to themselves. They can read it aloud. It’s about a young boy who is brave and unbowed.
The kid goes on a quest, and when danger appears, he discovers true grit – and he conquers his fears.
When the dust has all settled and Martin returns, he makes difficult choices and finally learns that it’s not always easy to do the right thing…
But he makes it back home to his father, the King. When his quest is complete and brave deeds have been done, he discovers at last that his sword has been won!
There’s bright art that explodes, popping right of the page – a feast for the eyes, irrespective of age.
There’s adventure aplenty…and frightening foes. There is also a knight – and he follows his nose, sniffing out those in danger to serve and protect. But this boldest of knights isn’t whom you’d expect…
There’s much more than just action and marvelous art: there’s a moral embedded to enter the heart and the mind of your child. It will challenge and thrill. This book won’t be forgotten like other ones will.
And the very best part? Martin makes a new friend!
When kids finish this book, they won’t want it to end.

Author interview:
What inspired the Prince Martin Epic? In 2015, I was deployed overseas with the military. As the days and weeks went by, my young son lost interest in talking to me on the phone. I just couldn’t connect with him. Then it dawned on me: I should tell him stories about “Prince Martin.” From then on, he’d beg to talk to me when I’d call home. Upon my return, my lovely wife encouraged me to turn my stories into books so lots of kids could take delight in them. This is book one in the Prince Martin Epic children’s action-adventure series. Prince Martin and the Thieves is its exciting sequel!
Tell us about the art. Through sheer serendipity, I discovered that my friend, Jason Zimdars, loves to draw. And I love to write. So we joined forces. What makes Jason’s art in Prince Martin Wins His Sword so special is that it’s in full, brilliant color, which is very unusual for chapter books, which are usually in black and white. Jason’s illustrations explode off the page, and they completely enchant kids and bring the story to vibrant life!___________________________________________________________________________
Praise for Prince Martin Wins His Sword:

“Here’s a gripping tale to be read over and over–a princely story teaching the values of integrity, courage, and resilience when facing a dangerous fear–a promised favorite in every child’s library.”
   – Pam Kanaly, best-selling author of The Single Mom and Her Rollercoaster Emotions

“This archetypal, cross-cultural, and timeless tale is exactly what young boys love and need.”
   – Peter Kreeft, Ph.D., best-selling author of The Philosophy of Tolkien: The Worldview Behind The Lord of the Rings and C.S. Lewis for the Third Millennium

“Not just for kids but for parents too. Parents will find rekindled within themselves the same delight they discovered at the same age but may have let slip away since.”
   – Karl Keating, best-selling author of High Desert Showdown

“The great G.K. Chesterton remarked that ‘Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.’ Brandon Hale does children the evergreen favor of providing adventures in which we learn the simple truth that dragons can be killed, heroism and courage are rewarded, and love and goodness triumph against wickedness.”
   – Mark Shea, co-author of the New York Times bestseller A Guide to the Passion
